A panel of scientists, referred to as CHAP (Chronic Hazard Advisory Panel), conducted an in-depth review of the long term health effects on human exposure to phthalates. As a result of the CHAP review, it was recommended that the federal limit of 1000 ppm (0.1%) limit be removed for two phthalates and added a limit of 1000 ppm (0.1%) for four additional phthalates.
