IAC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of antimicrobials and odor-controlling technologies within industries where microbial contamination is of concern. The IAC Antimicrobial Proficiency Program provides consistent application of existing standards and utilizes modified testing standards and protocols established by AATCC, ASTM, ISO and JIS.

The new IAC recognition combines Bureau Veritas’ Softlines and Microbiology testing facility under one roof, allowing a quick and accurate measure of the performance of antimicrobials on treated products using a variety of international test standards. An IAC Verified logo and unique identification number is assigned on a test report issued by our laboratory, attesting full compliance with required international standards and regulations have been met.

Chanaki De Costa, General Manager, Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services at Sri Lanka commented, “We are delighted to become a certified IAC testing laboratory that recognizes our new capabilities in evaluating the antimicrobial activity of a broad range of treated products. This adds to our existing recognitions including ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 as well as SLAB (Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment), NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and US GCB LEED Platinum.” Chanaki added, “We have been serving the Sri Lanka manufacturers and exporters for 23 years, the integrated Softlines and microbiology testing capabilities under one roof will enable us to further support our clients in an even more timely and effective manner.”
